Ingredients

  • 2 slices ciabatta bread (approx. 70g)
  • 40g prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 50g fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brush the outer sides of the ciabatta slices lightly with olive oil.
  2. Layer prosciutto, mozzarella slices, and fresh basil leaves evenly on one slice of bread.
  3. Place the second slice of bread on top, pressing gently to form the panini.
  4. Heat a panini press or a grill pan over medium heat. Grill for 4-6 minutes, or until bread is golden and cheese is melted.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a thin slice of ripe tomato or a few arugula leaves before grilling.
  • Use a heavy pan and a foil-wrapped brick if you don't have a panini press for a similar effect.
