Chicken and Broccoli Stir-fry

A classic chicken and broccoli stir-fry is a go-to for busy evenings. It's quick to prepare, versatile, and delivers satisfying flavors with tender chicken and crisp-tender broccoli. Serve it over rice for a complete meal.
Chicken and Broccoli Stir-fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or neutral cooking oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with 1 tbsp soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken to the hot pan and stir-fry until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. Add broccoli florets to the same pan, adding a splash of water if needed. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until crisp-tender. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Return cooked chicken to the pan with broccoli. Add remaining 1 tbsp soy sauce and toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until heated through. Serve immediately.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
  • Prep all your ingredients before you start cooking; stir-fries cook very quickly.
