Welcome to CaloVibe. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application. Our core philosophy is simple: your data belongs to you.
2. Data Collection, Storage, and Deletion
CaloVibe does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, dietary logs, or health information to our servers. All data you enter, including your age, weight, height, gender, and daily food logs, is stored securely and locally on your own Apple device. We do not track you, and we do not build profiles of our users.
Data Deletion: Because all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can permanently delete all your user data and history at any time simply by uninstalling the CaloVibe app from your device.
3. Apple Health (HealthKit) Integration
CaloVibe may request your permission to read data from the Apple Health app (HealthKit), specifically your Active Energy (calories burned) and Step Count, to provide you with a comprehensive view of your daily progress.
We adhere strictly to Apple's App Store Review Guidelines regarding health data:
- We do not collect or store your HealthKit data on any external servers; it is only processed locally on your device.
- We do not use or disclose your HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, data brokering, or any similar purposes.
- We do not share your HealthKit data with any third parties.
4. Device Permissions (Camera)
To function as intended, CaloVibe requires access to your device's Camera. This access is used exclusively to allow you to take photos of your meals for nutritional analysis. We only process the specific photos you take within the app. We do not access, browse, or collect any other photos or media from your device.
5. Third-Party Services and APIs
To provide our core features (such as AI food scanning and macro calculation), our app communicates directly with the following trusted third-party services in real-time:
- Google Gemini AI: When you use the scanning feature and grant permission, we collect and send the specific food photos you take to a third-party service, Google Gemini AI. This data is used exclusively to analyze the image, identify food items, and calculate nutritional information (calories and macronutrients). We do not send any other personally identifiable information. We confirm that Google Gemini AI provides the same or equal protection of your data as outlined in this Privacy Policy.
- Open Food Facts: We query this open database when you scan a barcode to retrieve nutritional information.
These services process your requests in real-time to return the required nutritional data. Please refer to Google's and Open Food Facts' respective privacy policies for more information on how they handle API requests.
6. In-App Purchases
We offer auto-renewing subscriptions handled entirely by Apple’s StoreKit. We do not process, collect, or have access to your credit card information, billing details, or Apple ID. All payment processing is securely managed by Apple.
